DashCraft Wiki

Building is how maps are created for dashcraft. Find the Build mode on the main screen of the dashcraft website. Create a new track and let the creativity in! Once you have finished building your track, validate it using the play mode without setting manual checkpoints, and publish it for other players to enjoy. The best maps get selected for verified maps, while those with early success may be placed on the recommended page.

How to get started[]

To start building, first find the build button on the home screen of dashcraft. Then press the Create button in the top right to start your track. The most important building blocks are located in the essential category on the bottom of the screen. If you don't see the essential section, scroll the piece categories to the left. First, select the Start block. This is where your track will begin.

Use any blocks you wish to create a track that is unique to you and shows your creativity! Some common inspirations are other verified tracks, real life, or even other racetracks from F1, Nascar, or even racing videogames. When you are done building your track, navigate back to the essential section to place your finish. You are almost done!

Lastly, validate that your track is possible by pressing the play mode in the top right of the editor. If you find yourself failing to complete the track, consider adding checkpoints by selecting most blocks or changing the track to be easier. Once you have finished your validation run, press the save icon in the very top right, optionally give your track a name and change the track thumbnail, click Public Track, and save. Your track will be available for all to enjoy. Interested in playing your new map and setting a world record? Go to Race, and then filter by New to find your track!

Categories[]

  1. Essential - These pieces are important and will be in almost every track. Includes the start block and the finish block.
  2. Turns - These are all full 90° turns. There will usually be many of these.
  3. Snakes - These slightly go to the left or right, then straighten back out.
  4. Slopes - There are 2 types of slopes: climbs and slopes. Climbs are used on their own, while slopes are used together (i.e. Slope start -> Slope -> Slope end). Flat to slopes are a left and right turn that go from a flat piece to a slope piece.
  5. Metal platforms - Metal platforms have no barriers and also come in wallrides.
  6. Road platforms - Road platforms are similar to metal platforms, except there are no wallrides. There are borders on certain pieces. These are used to make wide roads.
  7. Tilted - These pieces are tilted at a 45° angle, so one side is lower than the other.
  8. Loops - There are normal loops and extra wide loops, as well as left loops and right loops.
  9. Tubes - You can drive inside of these. They are transparent so you can see through them.
  10. Nature - In this category are a grass block, a single tree, and 4 trees.
  11. Props - These blocks are intended to be decorations; however you can drive on most of them. One example of this is pipes.

Notice:

The game is still under development, so some blocks may be changed/deleted/added.
